BERT BOSTROM PARK TEMPORARY CLOSURE

The Town Commission has approved the temporary closure of Bert Bostrom Park during the stormwater storage chamber installation, beginning January 2025. For everyone’s safety, the park will be closed due to heavy construction activity. This closure includes the basketball courts and playground. This phase of the project is expected to last 60 to 90 days. 

The long-awaited green infrastructure stormwater project at Bert Bostrom Park began on Monday, April 8, 2024. This major endeavor, which will eliminate flooding in the park and on the surrounding streets, will use underground water storage and filtration chambers (similar to the ones seen in this image) to capture and filter stormwater, resulting in clean water being discharged into the Intracoastal Waterway. The project is expected to take one year to complete.
